Space U Brew 2/9: Softball Wins 3 Over the Weekend
The softball team won three games over the weekend.

📈 STOCK UP
🔼 Opening Weekend. The softball team wrapped up its season-opening games at the Black & Gold Classic. The Knights fell to No. 16 Duke 5-2, beat Maryland 15-7, beat Buffalo 12-2 and Maryland again 9-1. Kendall Yarnell hit her second grand slam of the weekend in the first game against Maryland. The Knights scored a total of nine runs in that fourth inning. Reagan Vokoun secured her first win of the season on the mound in the second game against Maryland.
🔼 Sweep! The No. 9 men’s tennis team swept Miami 4-0 on Friday. The Knights won the doubles point and three singles matches to secure the win. UCF is now 8-0 this season.

Stat Check. The women’s basketball team fell to Oklahoma State 81-58 on Saturday.

🚀 ONE BIG THING
Two-Day Event. The track and field team competed at the Gainesville Indoor Classic this past weekend. On day one, all three runners in the 5000m group had personal bests. Brianna Rodriguez finished first in the 60m hurdles preliminary. The team also competed at the Charlie Thomas Invitational on Saturday. Omaria Gordon finished fifth in the long jump. Paige Laffoon is now No. 6 in the all-time record books after getting 3,598 points in her first pentathlon of the year.
