The softball team saw many victories on its season-opening weekend.

🔼 Premiere Weekend. The softball team had its first games of the season last weekend. The team started play on Thursday with wins over Howard and UConn. The Knights beat Seattle 5-0 on Friday but lost to UConn 2-3 on Saturday. Stormy Kotzelnick had her first home run at UCF in the UConn game, but it wasn’t enough to take the dub. The Knights ended the weekend with a 7-2 win over Georgia State on Sunday.

🔼 Double Meet. The track and field team split up to compete at both the Tiger Paw Invite and the Music City Challenge. Overall, the Knights set six personal bests and had multiple top-10 finishes. Rayniah Jones got first place in the 60H and set the nation’s No. 2 time at 7.95. Adaobi Tabugbo is second in the Big 12 for her 8.17 60H.

First Road Win. The women’s basketball team earned its first Big 12 road win against Texas Tech, defeating them 69-64. The Knights recorded 22 points off of Texas Tech’s 22 turnovers. Kaitlin Peterson led in both points and steals with 23 points and eight steals.
