Good morning, Knights. Men’s basketball head coach Johnny Dawkins was named the 2026 Jim Phelan National Coach of the Year. The Jim Phelan Award is presented annually to the nation’s top Division I head coach. The recipient is selected by a 10-member voting committee consisting of current and former head coaches, along with two senior staff members from CollegeInsider.com.

📈 STOCK UP

🔼 Wild Shutout. The softball team shut out Utah 17-0 on Thursday. The Knights had 15 hits and ended the game in five innings. The win marks the third-largest shutout victory in program history and the fifth straight 20-plus-win season at home. Aubrey Evans hit two homers. Sierra Humphreys and Kendall Yarnell each hit home runs as well. Evans and Humphreys tallied four RBIs apiece.

🔼 Senior Night. The No. 15 men’s tennis team beat No. 39 Oklahoma State 4-0 on Thursday. The men won the doubles point and three singles matches. The Knights improved to a perfect 14-0 record at home this season.

🔼 Best Boat. The rowing team claimed a Big 12 honor. The Knights claimed the Boat of the Week honor. UCF’s First 4+ delivered two standout performances at the Sarasota 2K, earning the second consecutive Big 12 Boat of the Week title for the Knights to open the season.

Highest Honor. UCF Athletics proudly celebrates the achievements of two standout student-athletes. Hannah Lovejoy of UCF rowing and Drew Hansen of UCF men’s soccer have been inducted into the Order of Pegasus, the university’s highest student honor. The 2026 Order of Pegasus class—37 students in total—embodies the highest ideals of what it means to be a UCF Knight. Through their dedication, passion, and contributions to both local and global communities, they are enriching the human experience and meeting the challenges of our world. Many are also engaged in hands-on research, uncovering new knowledge and contributing to broad-based prosperity.
