Space U Brew 3/30: Baseball & Softball Series Wins

The softball and baseball teams won their series this past weekend.

🥎 Knights beat Houston
⚾️ 3rd straight conference series win
🚀 And much, much more!

📈 STOCK UP

🔼 Series Win. The No. 22 softball team beat Houston 16-1 in game one of the series, ending the game in just five innings. The Knights had 14 hits. Aubrey Evans hit three home runs, matching the single-game home run record set in 2003. The women shut out Houston 11-0 in five innings on Saturday. Isabella Vega tossed the fourth perfect game in program history and the first of her career. The Knights had a huge final game, winning 22-8. The team hit the most home runs (10) in a single game this season in the country and set a program record.

🔼 Anotha’ Series Win. The baseball team began its series against Arizona with an 11-6 win on Friday. John Smith III hit a two-run homer. The Knights beat Arizona 13-3 in seven innings on Saturday, claiming their third straight conference series. Mateo Gray went a career-long 6.0 innings and allowed just three hits and two runs. Every Knight who stepped up to the plate recorded a hit. UCF beat Arizona in a walk-off win on Sunday, 3-2. Camden Wicker tossed 7.0 innings. Stephen Chucka hit an RBI single to win the game.

🔼 Keep Rowing. The rowing team competed at the Sarasota 2k this past weekend. On day one, the Knights secure five straight first-place finishes. On day two, the team swept the day to claim its second consecutive Benderson Cup Title.

🚀 ONE BIG THING

Great Host. The track and field team hosted the UCF Knights Invite this past weekend. The Knights had numerous top-10 finishes and personal records. Jasmine Ross and Omaria Gordon finished in the top five in the long jump. Angelina Horn now sits in sixth in the triple jump record book.
