🔼 Scholar Kings. The American Baseball Coaches Association honored UCF as a 2023-24 Team Academic Excellence Award recipient. The Knights held a 3.31 GPA, their best in-season GPA in program history. UCF was chosen out of over 470 collegiate programs across all levels.

Forever a Knight. Former first baseman Shannon Doherty will remain with UCF softball in a new role next spring. Doherty will be a graduate assistant for the 2025 season. She spent her entire five-year playing career at UCF.

Doherty said, “I’m looking to bring everything I gave on the field but in a new role. I take a lot of pride in my leadership, and I’m excited to help some of the new girls come into their captain roles and share some of my experiences with them as well as helping them through challenges they’ll face with that.”
