Space U Brew 2/17: Baseball's First Series Win

The baseball team won its opening series against Siena.

Good morning, Knights. The Knights gave us the best Valentine’s Day weekend a fan could ask for, with lots of wins. See all the UCF dubs below!

📈 STOCK UP

🔼 Series Dub. The baseball team won its first series of the season over Siena. The Knights won 13-4, 11-0 and 16-1. In game one, the men had a seven-run sixth inning, scoring 12 unanswered runs. In game two, the men had 12 hits, with nine batters recording at least one hit and five at least one RBI. Chase Kewson led the plate, going 3-for-5 with four RBIs and one run scored. In game three, the Knights hit five home runs, with Matt Prevesk hitting two.

🔼 Double Dubs. The women’s tennis team swept Stetson and Air Force. The Knights won 4-0 against Stetson and 4-0 against Air Force. Overall, the women had four doubles wins and six singles wins.

🔼 Court Report. The men’s tennis team defeated No. 4 Ohio State in the ITA Indoor Championship. The Knights won 4-2, with four singles wins.

🔼 Weekend Wins. The softball team finished at the 2025 Shriners Children’s Clearwater Invitational with wins over Clemson 6-4, Ohio State and Florida. Against Clemson, Izzy Mertes hit the first home run of her career. The Knights tied Ohio State 4-4 after the game was called in the fifth inning due to inclement weather.

Play A Round. Calling all Baseball Varsity Knights for a round of golf and the opportunity to connect with former teammates and staff at Eagle Creek Golf Club! Guests must register here by Feb. 21 to receive a Nike polo. The final deadline to register to play is March 17.

🔼 Two Meets. The track and field team competed at the Music City Challenge and Tyson Invitational. On day one, Kiah Williams dropped her 400m time once again, clocking at 52.51. Kendall Hughes ran a 4:57.83 in the mile, standing ninth in program history. On day two, Asherah Collins secured UCF history as she smashed her previous best long jump with a 13.30m mark.
